The New Haven Improvisors Collective

The New Haven Improvisers Collective presents an evening of new music with The Light Upon Blight Ensemble, plus special guests Dr. Caterwaul’s Cadre of Clairvoyant Claptraps.  NHIC celebrates 20 years of music with an evening featuring two venerable New Haven groups playing exploratory and adventurous music with ever-changing, sometimes unexpected grooves.

The Light Upon Blight Ensemble is Richard Brown: Alto Sax;   Pete Brunelli: Bass;  Jeff Cedrone: Guitar;  Bob Gorry: Guitar;  Tom Hogan: Drums;  Peter Riccio:  Drums.     They have been performing for a decade evolving from other groups, and have played festivals and showcases featuring the music of Ornette Coleman, free improvisations, and original compositions.

Light Upon Blight Ensemble

The Light Upon Blight Ensemble celebrates the release of their second album, CENTURY,  a stellar recording of a new composition by Jeff Cedrone and Bob Gorry exploring historical influences and heavy melodic structures woven with collective improvisations.  Double drums,  exploratory grooves, singular statements.  Rock, Post-Rock, Free Jazz, Prog Rock, Harmolodics…
