The New Haven Jazz Underground is a grass roots, community based organization dedicated to promoting & supporting Jazz and all of it's forms in New Haven, CT. The NHJU is committed to preserving New Haven’s vibrant music scene and history, while also providing employment for local musicians, support for local business, and to the community through social interaction and activism.Normally in the best of times we would be gearing up for our 2nd annual jazz festival.

The 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, the New Haven Jazz Underground hosts a night of jazz performance at cafe nine, with a house band/performer followed by an open jam session. It's always free admission and don't forget to bring your instrument with you to participate in the jam session immediately following the performance.
