Wed Aug 14 at 8:00pm EDT at Cafe Nine, New Haven, CT

Ex-Taking Back Sunday guitarist/vocalist Fred Mascherino started The Color Fred as a side-project in the early 2000s. After leaving TBS in 2007, Fred released “Bend to Break” whose videos for “If I Surrender” and “Hate to See You Go” were played regularly on good ol’ fuse TV. Fred continued to tour over the years in different bands, playing for Say Anything, The Lemonheads and Terrible Things. Now, getting back to The Color Fred, the band has reformed and released the album “A Year in Change”. Fourteen new songs that bring back that feeling we used to feel, with lyrics evolving to where our lives are at now.

Punk Rock/Alternative band from Philadelphia, PA.

With members spread across Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, New England quintet Arms Like Roses play a blend of emo, indie rock, and post-hardcore that alternates between lush beauty and cathartic harshness just like the seasons do in the region they call home.

With a sound harkening back to the ‘90s and early 2000s influenced by acts like Sunny Day Real Estate, mewithoutYou, Circa Survive, and Tigers Jaw, ALR made their debut in 2021 with the EP “Get Some Sleep”; they followed it up the next year with their Chris Teti (TWIABP)-produced first LP “Blooming”, which saw the band complete several east coast and Midwest tours and receive praise from press outlets like No Echo and The Alternative.
Arms Like Roses’ newest release, a split EP with fellow Northeastern emo outfit Sinking recorded by engineer William Hirst (Restraining Order, Maniac), releases on April 19th, 2024.
