Dean Falcone's 30th Annual Vomitorium

Dean Falcone’s 30th Annual Vomitorium Returns to Cafe Nine on Thanksgiving Eve

Beloved New Haven music tradition celebrates three decades of musical mayhem, holiday reunions, and rock ’n’ roll without rules.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Wednesday, November 25, 2026 — Three decades of questionable musical decisions, unexpected collaborations, and Thanksgiving Eve revelry come together when Dean Falcone’s 30th Annual Vomitorium returns to Cafe Nine in New Haven on Wednesday, November 25, the night before Thanksgiving.

What began as a way for Falcone to get together with musician friends returning home for the holidays has become one of Greater New Haven’s most enduring and unconventional live music traditions. Now in its 30th year, the Vomitorium continues to bring together an ever-changing cast of local musicians, longtime friends, and special guests for a night where the usual rules of performing go out the window.

The concept is simple: take songs you love, recruit musicians who may or may not have played them before, and see what happens. Familiar hits, guilty pleasures, unexpected song choices, and spontaneous musical detours are all part of the fun. Polished perfection is beside the point. The spirit of the Vomitorium is about taking chances, reconnecting with old friends, and celebrating the sheer joy of playing music together.

At the heart of the annual tradition is a core group of musicians featuring Dean Falcone, Ed Valauskas, Scott McDonald, Jim Balga, and Rick Mealey, alongside the Vomettes and the Super Spreader Horns.
