Lyle Griggs

Lyle Griggs is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and occasional banjo player from the rolling hills of Northeast Kansas. He has been playing guitar since high school, but didn’t start singing until he joined Tangled Up in Blue, Yale University’s premier folk and bluegrass singing group. Since then, he has started songwriting in earnest and recording original music with 17o1 Records, Yale’s student-run record label. True to his Great Plains roots, he writes and performs primarily folk and country music, influenced by artists like John Prine, Lucinda Williams, and Sturgill Simpson.

The band blends americana, folk, and alt-rock into a groove-laden, earthy sound. Their indie-twang is as lived-in as a tree trunk, or as comfortable as the soft grass on a hillside at sunset.
