KAT GO! Presents: Deke
Dickerson ; w/ The
Gamma Rays • Popular guitarist with respect for righteously
pure retro sounds, Deke formed the midwestern hot-rod surf-punk
band Untamed Youth at age 17 in his hometown of Columbia,
Missouri. They released a total of eight full-length albums,
toured in old hearses, and in 1991, Deke moved to Los Angeles
and joined Dave Stuckey to form the “Hillbilly Power” act
known as the Dave & Deke Combo, a fruitful twangin’ partnership
that yielded two albums and a much-touted 2005 reunion at
major rockabilly festivals. |

Hannah
Cranna; w/ The
Cavemen Go; Bill Beckett; Frank Critelli and Al Raebuck • Hannah Cranna was a bit anachronistic during
the '90s - they sounded nothing like the Seattle bands that
so dominated the music scene, in fact, their music harkened
back to the then ultra uncool pop of The Beatles, The Kinks,
Badfinger, Big Star and Buffalo Springfield - pure pop sounds
that have enjoyed a great resurgence after the noise-drenched
'90s. |

The
Atomic Duo; w/ Glory Bound Sinners • the latest project
from Bad Livers founder Mark Rubin featuring the hot mandolin
and plaintive vocals of young Silas Lowe. This release marks
Rubin’s first foray into American folk music since the last
Bad Livers CD almost a decade ago, and is the first recording
he has made as a singer and guitarist. Inspired by the great
“Brother” vocal duets and string bands of the Depression
era and formed on a dare, Rubin and Lowe have in a very short
time risen to the vanguard of the emerging re-interest in
acoustic roots Americana in their home of Austin TX. |

Daniel
Street, Manic
Productions and Cafe Nine Presents: Už
jsme doma; w/ another tba • Uz Jsme Doma spent the first
years of its existence in underground Czechoslovakia. After
the Velvet Revolution it was one of the first groups to storm
out and establish an alternative rock sound for the new republic.
Along with Plastic People of the Universe they became ambassadors
of Central European rock, frequently touring the U.S. and
establishing a cult following in America. If the PPU embody
the Communist repression of the 1970s and 1980s in their
gloomy, despair-driven music, then Uz Jsme Doma represents
the exuberance of liberation. Punk in spirit, activists at
heart, and strongly avant-garde in their dissonances, complex
songs, and humor, they are the Czech Republic's best group
of the 1990s. Note: This show is not at Cafe Nine. It
is located at Daniel Street, 21 Daniel Street in Milford. |

Shotgun
Party; w/ Silver Alert Fugitives • Shotgun Party puts
on a truly American music show. They swing early jazz right
on into dance hall country… with rapturous results. The majority
of songs are original, with melodies and lyrics that share
stories: urban, bucolic, lively and lonesome. Christopher
Crepps (formerly of the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, and
Thelonious Monk disciple) keeps it real, hot and low on the
upright bass; Katy Rose Cox (formerly of Uncle F*cker, Brooklyn
Brown Grass, & the Maybelles) roars delightful on the fiddle;
and introducing Jenny Parrott who sings and plays guitar
as one who grew up seaside. |

Charlie
Mars (solo); w/ another tba • Charlie Mars is known
for his compelling live performances. “When he’s onstage,
songs with deep grooves get some breathing room, and his
lush choruses inevitably lead to raucous audience sing-alongs,”
said Esquire. The hit CBS series “Cold Case” used “No Place
Like Home,” the next single from Mars’ latest album, Like
A Bird, Like A Plane, in its March 28th episode. “No Place
Like Home” goes for adds at radio on May 3rd. Mars recorded
the album in Austin with drummer J.J. Johnson (John Mayer),
keyboardist John Ginty (Citizen Cope) and bass players George
Reiff (Jakob Dylan) and Dave Monzie (Fiona Apple). The video
for lead single “Listen to the Darkside” (a nod to Pink Floyd)
featured “Weeds” star Mary Louise Parker and was directed
by Danny Clinch. It premiered as a Music Mix exclusive on
Entertainment Weekly’s websi. |

Milton;

Dolzani • Milton is a New York City-based singer/songwriter

band and soulful, energetic live shows. His most recent CD
Grand Hotel received heavy airplay across the U.S, staying
several weeks in the National Top 20 Americana chart. The CD,
produced with veteran producer Bo Ramsey (Lucinda Williams/Greg
Brown) was praised in the New York Times and many other publications. Another

Angie Chambers Productions presents: Jayke Orvis and Friends • Jayke Orvis is ahead of his time even though he plays timeless
music. The songs on his solo effort “It’s All Been Said” are articles
of the heart, exposing Orvis as a fragile, troubled soul. His raw and blue descriptions of love and life are complimented by the classic, poetic songs of Rachel Brooke and wide ranging country sounds of James Hunnicutt. This rootsy, bluesy show is bound to inspire an old fashioned good time, engraving a haunting beat into every kind of wayward soul. |

Folk as an art form played with a conviction of sensibility
and spirit. Their all out abandon of song structure focuses
on experimentation, strange but beguiling harmonies and escalating
emphasis of drumming, cello, banjo, mandolin, any of a number
of home-made instruments, or Dannie’s wildcat snarl. She's
got one of those once-in-a-lifetime voices, a collision of
pain and triumph, of sounds that tickle and caress the ear
and blurts and barks that frighten it. |

Productions Presents: Touch and Go Book Release Party with The
Meatmen; Easy
Action; Broken •
The Meatmen are a Michigan punk band headed by Tesco Vee
originally from 1980 to 1997, and reformed in 2008. They
are currently still touring, and are working on a new album.
The Meatmen made fun of the hardcore punk scene of the time.
The band was known for their stage antics, and for songs
with colorful song titles such as "I Sin For A Living", "1
Down, 3 To Go" (a reference to the murder of former
Beatles member John Lennon), and the Suck Trilogy of "Crippled
Children Suck," "French People Suck," and "Camel
Jockeys Suck." They also covered "What's This Shit
Called Love?" by The Pagans, as well as The Smiths' "How
Soon Is Now?" for the compilation The World Still Won't
